Overview

This seminar/workshop aims to promote dialogue and the sharing of experiences among PhD candidates, researchers, artists and others interested in the theme that includes Art in its interactive, relational, interventionist and aggregator spectrum. Art that goes beyond the realm of exhibition and entertainment, rather artistic power as a way of giving voice to those who have been silenced by social, epistemic and ecological injustices.

From several examples of groups that emancipated themselves in Brazil, coming from the Brazilian Psychiatric Reform, from the Afro-Reggae project in Rio de Janeiro, the Candial neighbourhood in Salvador, among others, we intend to address these expressions in the academic field from initiatives that already exist, but also from the embryos that can still be born in know-how. Music as an emancipatory device, whose collective desire is not previously defined but discovered in the experimentation of practices and knowledges of each people, occupies a central place in this meeting, as well as in each reality locally produced.

Based on the general objective of the "Health and Art" Platform - to produce knowledges and practices aimed at the use of artistic tools to promote the emancipation of groups in situations of multiple vulnerabilities - we intend to aggregate studies, researches and reflections that recognise the capacity of the arts to generate other visions of reality and to promote the amplification of voices of populations with multiple vulnerabilities. People in situations of subalternity, collective targets of stigmatisations, prejudices and segregations.

"Saúde com Arte" is one of the laboratories created within the scope of the Research Group on Collective Health, Epistemologies of the South and Interculturalities of the Federal University of Southern Bahia (UFSB) in partnership with CES, UnB, CLACSO and the South-South universities network. This laboratory promotes seminars, workshops, study groups and research on the theme "Health with Art".

This workshop seminar is held in collaboration with the CES/FEUC Doctoral Programmes and the FEUC Sociology Doctoral Programme.

Goals:

- To problematise the artistic expressions that interact with the field of Health, from the perspective of Collective Health and based on Artisanship of Practices;

- Share knowledges steeming from research and practices in the field of the arts that aggregate refined, rebellious, revolutionary and activist knowledges, based on Ecology of Knowledges;

- Articulate experiences and promote reflections in the academic field, connecting knowledges and practices of projects, research and artistic experiments.
