Abstract
The objective of this event is to present and discuss the main aspects of citizen struggles against mining in both South America (Brazil, Chile and Peru) and in Portugal. Different ways of resisting, struggling and saying "no" to these projects, the emergence of the public issue of the lack of limits of such activities and their mobilizing capacity, as well as the alternatives that have been advanced by collectives and communities in the struggle against mining projects. We intend to contribute to a sharing of experiences and the co-construction of knowledge between academics, activists, associations, protest movements and platforms.
