Seminar

The return of rural? new approaches to agriculture, tourism and ecology

January 16, 2014, 09h30

Room 8, CES-Coimbra

Abstract
This seminar brings together contributions on the theme of rurality approached in different theoretical and methodological perspectives: rural sociology, environmental history, political economy and political ecology. Associative experiences, cooperation and agricultural innovation, and rural tourism are the basis of the presentations. The  authors call into question the separation country/city, looking at the processes of 'new rurality' that has characterized public policy, market processes, cultural changes and social movements in recent decades, in Portugal and Latin America.
