Abstract
This international seminar aims at bringing to debate a number of issues around the notion and practice of the 'Right to the City' from the research and exchange visits conducted within the project Cidade e Alteridade: convivência multicultural e justiça urbana (2011-2013), developed jointly by the Centre for Social Studies, University of Coimbra and Faculty of Law of the Federal University of Minas Gerais. This second edition of the Seminar - the first took place in September 2012, in Belo Horizonte - aims to be an important moment of dialogue between the two teams and representatives of civil society organizations, professionals working in urban planning and development, the relationship between knowledge, politics and urban cultures, anti-racist activists, and experts on the right to the city and human rights.
