Ana Lúcia Santos, a post-doctoral researcher at the Centre for Social Studies, has just been awarded the Science and Sport - Young Scientific Talents Week scholarship (with a view to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games). This is ascholarship promoted by the Institut Français de Portugal and the French Embassy in Portugal, which funds the trip to Paris of a young scientist whose research focuses on the challenges of sport.

Having completed a doctoral thesis on gender policies aimed at women with hyperandrogenism and trans people in Elite Sport, and with a view to developing a future project focusing on the inclusion of trans and non-binary young people in School Sport and Federated Sport, the award of this scholarshipt recognises the contribution of Ana Lúcia Santos' work to understanding the current challenges in the world of sport, as gender policies evolve towards increasingly restricted inclusion.

Young Scientific Talents Week is a prestigious international scientific meeting organised by Universcience, which aims to bring together young scientists from all over the world in activities in the context of the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, with the aim of exploring the relationship between science and sport, from a medical, biomechanical, psychological, historical, sociological and cultural point of view.

The activities will take place at the Cité des sciences et de l'industrie and the Etincelles du Palais de la Découverte.

The CES researcher will thus have the opportunity to present her work, take part in scientific mediation workshops, visit cultural institutions, research centres and sports facilities, as well as contribute to the development of a current scientific exhibition on sport.

Youg Scientific Talents Week is part of the official programme of the Paris 2024 Cultural Olympiad and is organised by Universcience, in partnership with the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs.
