Maribel Fernández Agudelo awarded Honorable Mention under the Res Publica 2020 Prize

Maribel Fernández Agudelo, PhD student at the Centre for Social Studies (CES) and at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Coimbra (FEUC), was awarded an Honourable Mention in the framework of the Res Publica 2020 Prize, with the essay «”Quando o mar é mais seguro do que a terra”: Desafios da migração de crianças e adolescentes desacompanhados» ["When sea is safer than land": Challenges of unaccompanied migrant children and adolescents].

This essay was written while conducting research for her doctoral thesis, to be developed within the Post-Colonialisms and Global Citizenship programme (CES/FEUC), and will be published in issue 89 of the Res Publica magazine, a project of the Res Publica Foundation aimed at promoting participation, reflection and political debate in the light of democratic socialism, social democracy and labourism.

The 2020 Edition of the Res Publica Prize featured 6 essays that, according to the organisation «contributed to reflection on the issues of the Demographic Challenge and its impact on our society».
