The Centre for Social Studies (CES) informs that the Foundation for Science and Technology - FCT has opened a Call for Individual Doctoral and Postdoctoral Grants between June 15 and July 15, 2016. More information available at http://www.fct.pt/apoios/bolsas/concursos/individuais2016.phtml.en.

To apply to the Centre for Social Studies as the host institution, those interested should consider the following rules:

1. Applications for Post-doctoral grants

The Centre for Social Studies will assess applications for postdoctoral grant, under the Regulation in force until July 3, 2016. Applications must be sent to posdoutoramentos@ces.uc.pt, including a full identification of the applicant, updated CV, work project and copy of the certificate of academic qualifications. In case of prior contact with a possible supervisor, an opinion on the work plan and timeline presented must be attached.

2. Applications for PhD Scholarships

The Centre for Social Studies will receive applications while Host institution for FCT PhD Fellowships until July 3, 2016.

a) The applications for students already enrolled in CES Doctoral Programmes should be sent to doutoramentos@ces.uc.pt containing full name of the applicant, updated CV, work project (FCT template) and supervisor’s opinion.

b) Those interested, in the application stage for CES 2016/2017 Doctoral Programmes, should contact the coordination of the respective programmes in order to inform about the intention to apply for a FCT scholarship, requesting the assessment of the application to the programme within the required deadlines and the appointment of a supervisor. Upon acceptance into the programme, the application, including full identification of the applicant, updated CV, work project (FCT template) and supervisor’s opinion regarding the work plan shall be sent by the candidate to doutoramentos@ces.uc.pt

c) CES will also consider the scientific hosting of PhD candidates for other doctoral programmes, if the supervisor of work plan is a Researcher at the Centre for Social Studies. Those interested should send their full name, updated CV, work project (FCT template) and the supervisor’s opinion to doutoramentos@ces.uc.pt
