The birth of MAEESL in 1967; the promotion of free courses and the evocation of the “Popular University”; the reporting of leaders by PIDE; the legionnaire episode, the expulsion of the gorillas, the closure of the Students' Association and the persecution of the Board; the organisation of the student struggle following the murder of Ribeiro Santos; the arrests, expulsions, and waves of suspensions; the punitive incorporation into the military and the deserters’ manifesto against the colonial war; the organisation and implementation of the October 1973 demonstration.
