Room 1, CES | Alta
“Journalism is not neutral, despite how the profession is presented, in aseptic and impartial terms. It is political.” In Contra a Neutralidade: Um jornalismo de paz e de luta (Pol-len Edicions and Crític, 2024) [Against Neutrality: A Journalism of Peace and Struggle], Xavier Giró condenses a unique proposal, the combination of journalism of peace and struggle. The former, which contributes to resolution of conflicts of the latter, which, in turn, dismantles unjust power structures. Critic Sergi Picazo invites future journalists and activists to be even more critical of the media, but tactically and strategically.
During the event, Xavier Giró will present his book, opening space for a committed debate with the public.
