Seminar Programme

DIJUS – Interdisciplinary Dialogues on Law and Justice

2023

Overview

DIJUS is a programme of seminars about the relations of (mis)understanding between legal discourse and the discourse(s) of other sciences. Through these dialogues the aim is to analyse the convergences and divergences of knowledges, of discourses and the way these are translated and used in the concealment/disclosure of facts and in the construction of a narrative that is validated and recognised by law and the judicial system.

This Seminar Programme, initiated in 2009, has already contributed to several research projects, which included the preparation of several doctoral theses. It is now entering a third phase of seminars, to be held until the end of 2023, with the participation of professionals and researchers from various fields of knowledges and disciplines related to law and the administration of justice, from, among others, medicine to management sciences, and from psychiatry and psychology to social work.
