About
Under the motto "Feminist Talks", the XII edition of the Gender Workshop Series proposes a series of talks with people from different areas of intervention and work in the field of gender equality and women's dignity and well being in Portugal and Galicia. In this session, we will talk with Graça Rojão, based on her work.
Bio note
Graça Rojão: 54 years old, mother of two children, amateur horticulturist and resident in Covilhã. She is co-founder and director of CooLabora - a cooperative that focuses its activity on promoting gender equality and fighting domestic violence, working with people in vulnerable situations and experimenting with alternatives within the solidarity economy. She is a sociologist, with a specialization in Gender Equality by CIG and a post-graduation in Partnership Project Management by FEUC. She is a PhD candidate in sociology at the University of Beira Interior researching on Degrowth and Care in Local Alternative Initiatives. She participates in networks of civil society organisations, such as the Portuguese Network for Degrowth and Animar - National Association for Local Development. Graça Rojão has been involved in civic initiatives to promote equality at the local level and to prevent and combat gender and domestic violence.
