About

During the COVID-19 pandemic, indigenous and quilombola populations faced, in addition to the omission and negligence of the State, the elimination of measures to protect their territories that favoured the invasion of their lands and other environmental crimes such as burning and deforestation. Responding to this situation, several indigenous organisations have developed and implemented a series of resistance strategies that reinforce elements of self-management and the right to sovereignty. Speakers will present some of these strategies in Brazil and also compare them with experiences in the Americas.
