Bio note
Xavier Romão is a civil engineer and Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP). He develops scientific activity in the area of risk assessment for multiple hazards and structural safety analysis in existing constructions, in particular for cultural heritage. He is one of the national representatives in the International Committee on Risk Preparedness of ICOMOS (International Council on Monuments and Sites) and is a member of the management of the Portuguese Society of Seismic Engineering.
