The use of the plural in the title of this book, Patrimónios de Influência Portuguesa: modos de olhar  [Heritages of Portuguese Influence: ways of looking], aims to raise a plurality of views on an object resulting from the composition of many others. It is, so to say, the proclamation of a multidimensional principle: not a single heritage from one origin, agent or group that, once examined, will perpetually offer the same answers. Influence in different fields and levels of interculturality: formal and informal, administrative or spiritual, commercial or migrational, colonial and post-colonial.
