Biographic Note:
Norman Finkelstein is an internationally renowned scholar on subjects related to Zionism, Palestine and the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories. He is the author of several papers and books focused on those fields, and also an active lecturer in favor of political and human rights of the Palestinian people and against Israeli occupation. As an American Jew, son of Holocaust survivors, Finkelstein applies a radical and consistent universal humanism to his criticism about Israeli occupation and its defenders.
His persistent criticism of the occupation and its defenders has cost him much. The DePaul University denied Finkelstein tenure due to unprecedented interventions and obvious pressure from Zionist lobby (namely Alan Dershowitz).
Finkelstein’s life and work were also portrayed in a documentary film entitled “American Radical”.
His most recent book, «This Time We Went Too Far: Truth and Consequences of the Gaza Invasion» (OR Books, New York, 2010), is a critical analysis of the massacre perpetrated in Gaza between December 2008 and January 2009, during Operation Cast Lead. His book The Holocaust Industry does the critical analysis of the different forms of opportunistic use of the Holocaust reality by the State of Israel and its defenders in order to cover up real crimes committed by the Palestinian occupation.
