The Centre for Social Studies and the Faculty of Economics of the University of Coimbra are co-organising the II Doctoral Conference of the Portuguese Political Science Association (APCP). This initiative encourages doctoral students to develop theses in the field of Political Science across its various subfields and topics. The Conference allows for discussion of work in progress by young doctoral researchers, fostering the creation and consolidation of networks and the possibility of collaboration between participants. The two days of work also include sessions on career development in the field of Political Science in general.
Participation in the conference is free for APCP members, and transport costs (exclusively public transport in mainland Portugal) for all APCP members will be covered by the Association, upon presentation of the respective receipt issued in the name of the APCP and with the respective tax identification number. Those selected will be given precise information on the procedures to be followed.
Those who are not yet members of APCP and wish to become members and benefit from these conditions must join by 27 March 2026. The annual APCP membership fee is €30, with a 50% discount on the annual fee for all students enrolled in a doctoral programme in our scientific area. To become a member of APCP, doctoral students must fill out the form available at this link and, if they wish to benefit from the 50% discount, send proof of enrolment in a doctoral programme to socios@apcp.pt. For non-members of APCP, participation costs €40 and APCP does not contribute to transport costs.
Important dates:
• Abstract submission: 19 January to 2 March 2026
• Notification of results: by 23 March 2026
