Linda Miriam Cerdeira


Biography

Linda Miriam Cerdeira, feminist, activist and mother of two children, is a PhD candidate in Feminist Studies at the University of Coimbra with funding from the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (2023-2027). Between 2019 and 2022 she was a researcher at the Centre for Social Studies at the University of Coimbra in the scope of the projects Parent-Promotion, Awareness Raising and Engagement of men in Nurture Transformations, EMINC: Engaging Men and Promoting Positive Gender Norms in Early Childhood and KINDER - Challenging gender stereotypes in education and early childhood: the construction of an Inclusive Pedagogy in Early Childhood Education, she is currently a consultant in the Project X-MEN: Masculinities, Empathy and Non-Violence. She holds a degree in International Relations with a specialization in Human Rights. From 2013 to 2019, she was Program Coordinator for Instituto Promundo in Brazil. She also collaborated with the Program Coordination of Promundo - Portugal and was an international consultant in the Global Grace (Global Gender and Cultures of Equality) and LINEA (Learning Initiative on Norms, Exploitation and Abuse) projects. With 15 years of experience in socio-cultural and gender projects in Portugal and Brazil, she has coordinated several research-action projects using gender transformative methodologies with a focus on gender, masculinities, urban violence, arts and culture. Her PhD research project has the theme: FEMINIST ARTIVISMS: Marginal Powers in the disruption of whiteness.
