IMISCOE Maria Ioannis Baganha Dissertation Award 2014

Deadline for submission: February 3, 2014.

IMISCOE has opened nominations for its 2014 Maria Ioannis Baganha Dissertation Award. The Network has awarded this prize annually since
2010 to stimulate and recognise excellent PhD research in the field of migration, integration and social cohesion in Europe. The 2014 competition is open to all PhD recipients whose dissertations were defended within the 24-month period before the deadline for submission of 3 February 2014. Applicants are invited to apply on their own behalf, although dissertation supervisors may also nominate candidates.

Prize
The award prize is 2,500 euros. The winning dissertation will, in addition, be eligible for publication as a book in the IMISCOE-Amsterdam University Press Research series. Finally, the winner is invited to present their work at the 11th IMISCOE  Annual Conference, which will take place 28-29 August in Madrid, Spain, at the Instituto Universitario de Estudios sobre Migraciones.

Assessment criteria
Nominated candidates/dissertations should demonstrate a significant contribution to migration and integration studies in relation to Europe on one or more of the following criteria: research quality; methodological and/or empirical innovation; potential impact.
