Best LGBTQ+ Film Award

«Outlasting - Living Archives of Older Queers», produced as part of the Project TRACE, wins award at the Your Way Film Festival

The documentary «Outlasting - Living Archives of Older Queers», directed by Ana Cristina Santos and Nuno Barbosa as part of the Project TRACE - Tracing Queer Citizenship Over Time, was awarded the Best LGBTQ+ Film prize at the Your Way Film Festival.

This event celebrates independent cinema from around the world, bringing together international filmmakers and film lovers every year. The 2026 edition will take place in Valletta, Malta.

After its world premiere at Queer Porto 11 - International Queer Film Festival, and having been awarded Best LGBTQ+ Film at the Athens International Monthly Art Film Festival (AIMAFF), this new distinction further emphasises the artistic quality and impact of the work, which gives visibility to the experiences and memories of LGBTQI+ people over 60 in Southern Europe, combining scientific research, art and activism. It is an archive of life stories of diversity over time in Portugal, Italy, Greece, Malta and Slovenia.

The award reflects the commitment of the project TRACE, based at CES and funded by the European Research Council (ERC-2021-COG, TRACE, 101044915), to promoting and disseminating interdisciplinary research on ageing, citizenship, and sexual and gender diversity over time.
