In this op-ed, Pedro Góis discusses a set of questions that the current covid 19 pandemic prompts us to raise. Mobilising reflections of Marshall McLuhann, Ferdinand Tönnies and João Paulo XX, Pedro Góis discusses the failures of the neoliberal capitalist project that, while not being able to foster solidary societal ties to replace the community ties that it gradually destroyed, brought on social inequalities and an environmental and ecological crisis at the base of the current global crisis.
