Overview
Measures such as quarantine, isolation and social distance have a long history in facing epidemics and pandemics over the past centuries. In the current pandemic of COVID-19, these measures continue to be the main resource to contain and slow the progression of the infection. This document, prepared as part of a platform for social scientists to respond to health emergencies, presents and discusses the quarantine, its forms, historical experiences and relevant learnings to face the current health crisis.
