CES develops a wide number of scientific and cultural activities for diversified audiences, looking to disseminate the results of its research and promote a scientific culture, actively trying to build spaces for intercultural contact and dialogue between the researchers and the community.

Gathering academics, specialists, experts and activists, CES offers a wide range of training initiatives. These can be aimed at young researchers from CES Summer Schools, specialized professionals - as is the case among the legal and judicial professions - through training activities at UNIFOJ, as well as activists and leaders of movements through workshops organized by Popular University of Social Movements (UPMS). The various topics covered by the advanced training courses can assume a more classical, on-site nature, or they can be performed via our e-learning platforms, which have been increasingly relevant in CES' training provision.

Amongst CES' outreach activities, we can highlight initiatives dedicated to younger audiences, looking to promote the dissemination and the debate surrounding the knowledge produced within the institution in the different areas of the Social Sciences and Humanities. CES Goes to Schools is one such initiative, stimulating discussion in elementary and secondary schools. In collaboration with the agency Ciência Viva, secondary students are invited to debate the research work developed in internships carried out at the institution. These activities, among many others annually provided, benefit from the crossed interaction between the research carried out, the doctoral programmes, the publications and the activities of scientific culture dissemination and promotion. They are therefore an excellent example of shared and integrated affirmation of knowledge.

Lastly, CES benefits from a vast range of national and international networks and protocols which promote collaborations with other public and private institutions and agents, producers of knowledge and dissemination activities for the scientific research results.
