Bio Notes of the Trainers

Pedro Verdelho (General Coordinationl)
Has been a Public Prosecution Magistrate since 1990. Between 1994 and 2005, he served in the Department of Criminal Investigation and Action (DIAP) of Lisbon, in the section specialized in the investigation of economic-financial crimes, corruption and computer crimes. Between 2005 and 2011 he was a lecturer at the Centre for Judicial Studies, in the criminal area, of which he was coordinator. He was the representative of Portugal in the European Union and in the Council of Europe on cybercrime issues; representative of Portugal to the Committee of the Cybercrime Convention of the Council of Europe since 2006 and is currently a member of its permanent Bureau. He is an expert of the European Union and the Council of Europe in the area of cybercrime. Since 2011, he is Coordinator of the Attorney General's Cybercrime Office.

Lino Santos
Mestre em Direito e Segurança pela Faculdade de Direito da Universidade Nova de Lisboa, licenciado em Engenharia de Sistemas e Informática pela Universidade do Minho, trabalha na área de computação avançada e segurança na unidade FCCN da FCT, I.P. Entre 2014 e 2017 foi Coordenador de Operações no Centro Nacional de Cibersegurança. Até 2014 foi Diretor de Segurança e Serviços à Comunidade na Fundação para a Computação Científica Nacional, Diretor do serviço de resposta a incidentes de segurança informática CERT.PT e Oficial de ligação nacional à Agência Europeia de Cibersegurança-ENISA.

Raquel Alexandra Brízida Castro
Professor of the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon, Principal Investigator of the Centre for Research in Public Law (CIDP) of the Institute of Legal and Political Sciences (ICJP) and the Centre for Juridical Research of Cyberspace (CIJIC) Lisbon. Researcher/collaborator of ICPOL - Research Centre of the Higher Institute of Police Sciences and Internal Security. She is a research coordinator of the Advanced Course on Data Protection of the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon. She is the Scientific Coordinator of the I Advanced Course in Cybersecurity and Cyberspace Law at the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon.She is the Scientific Coordinator of the I Advanced Course in Cybersecurity and Cyberspace Law at the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon. Since January 2017, she is a member of the Portuguese Scientists Group of the Eurociencia PT Network; Seminar on "Cybersecurity and Cyberbullying" of the IX Master's Degree in Police Sciences of the Higher Institute of Police and Security Science.e.

Manuel Lopes Rocha
Lawyer, partner at PLMJ. Author and co-author of several books on Intellectual Property and Information Society. He is a member of the Intellectual Property Commission of CCI Portugal and the Scientific Director of the Intellectual Property magazine. Guest lecturer at the Portuguese Catholic University (Institute of European Studies and Faculty of Law), and Universidade Nova de Lisboa (FCSH/CITI).).

David Silva Ramalho
Lawyer of Morais Leitão, Galvão Teles, Soares da Silva & Associados, where he works in the areas of criminal litigation, administrative litigation, compliance and data protection. He is a Guest Assistant for Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure at the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon and regularly participates as a guest speaker at conferences and postgraduate courses on topics related to cybercrime, digital proof, criminal procedure and data protection. He is also a researcher at the Centre for Research in Criminal Law and Criminal Sciences (CIPDCC) and fellow at the Tech and Law Center in Milan. Master in Legal and Criminal Sciences and Post-Graduate in Intellectual Law and in Law and Cyber Security, Faculty of Law of Lisbon.

Alexandre Sousa Pinheiro
Professor Auxiliar da Faculdade de Direito da Universidade de Lisboa, doutorou-se pelo Instituto de Ciências Jurídico-Políticas (ICJP), é Investigador do Centro de Investigação em Direito Público (CIDP). É especializado em protecção de dados e identidade informacional a par com um enfoque de pesquisa nas áreas do direito constitucional e dos direitos fundamentais e uma actividade de docência muito focada na legística e na ciência da legislação. É co-Director da Revista Jurídica da AAFDL, e é membro do Conselho de Redação da revista Direito e Política. Para além da sua actividade académica, foi Adjunto do Secretário de Estado da Presidência do Conselho de Ministros no XIII Governo Constitucional e Assessor do Secretário de Estado Adjunto do Ministro da Justiça no XIV Governo Constitucional. Foi ainda Consultor Principal do Centro Jurídico da Presidência do Conselho de Ministros (CEJUR). É Perito Nacional da Agência Europeia para os Direitos Fundamentais e foi Presidente do Multidisciplinary Group on Organised Crime do Conselho da União Europeia na área de Proteção de Dados durante a Presidência portuguesa do Conselho da União Europeia.

Gonçalo Sousa
Consultant in the Development and Innovation Unit at the National Center for Cybersecurity. He was head of the Operational Software Development Section at the Superintendence of Information Technology Services of the Portuguese Navy and lecturer at the Higher Institute of Information Sciences and Administration. Research and interest area: legal and strategic aspects of cybersecurity and cybermedicine, with published articles and participation in several national and international lectures. PhD in Law and Cyber Security, Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon, Post-Graduation in Law in Cybersecurity, Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon. Promotion Course to Senior Officer, 2011, Institute of Military Superior Studies. MA in Computer Science, specialised in em Software Engineering, 2010, at the Naval Post Graduate School, Monterey, EUA. BA in Naval Military Sciences, Mechanical Engineering Branch. 199, Naval School.
