Biography
PhD in Sociology from the University of Coimbra, with the thesis entitled "Cuidar e ser cuidado. Uma análise do cuidado quotidiano, permanente e de longa duração". Sociologist and researcher at the Centre for Social Studies of the University of Coimbra, where she currently is a research fellow of the project "Decide - Deficiência e autodeterminação: o desafio da "vida independente" em Portugal' (2016 - 2019) (funded by FCT - Reference PTDC/IVC-SOC/6484/2014). She was a participating member in the "Estudo de Avaliação do Impacto dos Custos Financeiros e Sociais da Deficiência", at CES, which would then influence her interest in the theme of disability family caretakers, subject approached in her master's thesis - Vidas de Cuidado(s): uma análise sociológica do papel dos cuidadores informais. From 2011 to 2015, she was a PhD Grant holder from FCT and attended the Doctoral Programme in Sociology at FEUC, where she discussed the production of care for disability in Portugal.
