Overview

By analysing recent cases of mediatization of justice related to the corruption phenomenon, in Portugal and Brazil, this seminar intends to reflect, in a situated manner, the implications of these phenomena for democracy, for the judicial and media system.

Bruno Sena Martins

João Paulo Dias

Flaviane de Magalhães Barros holds a Law degree from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (1997), a master's degree in law from the Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais (2000) and a doctorate in law from the Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais (2003). Post doctorate degree at Universita degli studi di Roma Tre. Currently associate professor at the Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais and professor at the Federal University of Ouro Preto. She has experience in the area of Law, with emphasis on procedural law, working mainly on the following topics: criminal procedure, constitutional process model, democratic state of law, reforms of criminal procedure and procedural law. José Luis Bolzan de Morais State Attorney of the State of Rio Grande do Sul holds a Law degree from the Federal University of Santa Maria (1984), a Master's degree in Law from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (1989), a PhD in Law from the University Federal University of Santa Catarina (1995), with a doctoral exchange internship at the University of Montpellier I - France and post-doctorate at the Faculty of Law of the University of Coimbra. He is currently a postgraduate course professor at the University of Vale do Rio dos Sinos and the University of Itaúna, State Attorney of the State of Rio Grande do Sul, Coordinator of the Centre for Studies of the Higher School of Magistracy, member of the advisory council of the Institute of Hermenêutica Jurídica, ad hoc consultant of CAPES, CNPQ, FAPERGS, FAPESC, FAPESIG and Università degli studi di Roma Tre and guest professor of the postgraduate course - University of Firenze, Universita Roma I, University of Seville and University of Coimbra, coordinator of the Group State and Constitution (CNPq) (GEPE & C) and the State & Constitution Research Network (REPE & C). Researcher PQ / CNPq. Member of the MJ / SNJ Migration Law Reform Specialist Group. Member of the CNEJ / CFOAB (2013/2015) and the OAB / RS Mediation Commission. He has experience in the area of Law, with emphasis on Theory of State and Constitutional Law, acting mainly in the following subjects: constitution, state, law, jurisdiction and human rights. And administrative academic experience as director of undergraduate and postgraduate courses (master's and doctorate) as well as university management.
