EMPATIA research project national e internacional Workshop

January 21 and 22, 2016

CES-Lisbon & CIUL Auditorium (Picoas Plaza | Lisbon)

Summary

The EMPATIA project seeks to enhance the inclusiveness and impact of Participatory Budgeting (PB) processes, increasing the participation of citizens by designing, evaluating and making publicly available an advanced ICT platform for participatory budgeting, which could be adaptable to different social and institutional contexts. It aims to respond to the emergence of a new set of ICT-based participatory innovations, coming both from the public sector (e-government tools and e-democracy) and the private sector (civic media, social collaborative networks etc).

This project is funded by the European Union under the framework of the program Horizon 2020 and is composed by a diverse network of researchers and institutions drawing upon deep theoretical and practical experience in European, Latin American, Northern American and African PB processes.

The first national and international conference will take place on the 21 and 22 January focusing on the following subjects: “From Participatory Budget to Multi-Channel Participation” and “Collaborative Platforms for Multi-Channel Participation: Challenges and Opportunities”.

This event is open to the public, please consult the programs, as well as, we kindly ask you to enroll (free of charge) online on the Empatia website http://empatia-project.eu/?target=home,  and then access to the events page.
