BIOGRAPHY

I am currently a member of JUSTFOOD Project, responsible with participatory research in Romania (survey, biographical and semi-structured interviews). The project employs ethnographic methods to document AFM's experiences in Romania and Portugal, in terms of agri-food cultures, histories of authoritarian regimes and socio-environmental justice movements. My academic and professional experience in various projects could be summarized in a few key words such as: sociology and anthropological research (both quantitative and qualitative methodologies), just sustainability and social impact studies, energy-efficient & smart houses. I am defended my Phd in December 2019, the research is focused on the Romanian case study of Smart Homes and their relation to energy-efficiency. My research entails, firstly, a conceptual and methodological concern about the social impact assessment regarding Smart Homes, namely those which integrate various technologies and automation to reduce energy consumption from conventional sources. In my dissertation I propose an innovative methodology that contributes to integrating social impact within decision making processes regarding the implementation of Smart Homes in Romania.
