Notas biográficas

Joana P. Becker | Psychologist, psychotherapist, researcher at the Trauma Observatory of the Centre for Social Studies (CES) of the University of Coimbra (UC), member of the Certification Commission of the European Society for Traumatic Stress Studies (ESTSS) and coordinator of the Trauma Observatory/CES team at the “Resource Centre for Stress in a Military Context” of the Ministry of National Defence.

Joana has a PhD in Clinical Psychology, a Master's Degree in Social and Cultural Psychiatry and in Clinical Psychology - specialising in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, and is a specialist in Dynamic Psychotherapy and Psychotraumatology. She has been working with trauma since 2008, when she began her career assessing children and adolescents who had been victims of sexual abuse and observing screenings of adolescents in conflict with the law. As a lecturer, she has taught classes on psychoanalysis, dynamic psychotherapy, PTSD, among other topics related to the impact of crises and catastrophes. She has also been a speaker at mental health events and a reviewer for national and international scientific journals.

Margarida Figueiredo-Braga | Psychiatrist. Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto, Researcher at I3S - Institute for Research and Innovation in Health and Associate Researcher at CES - Centre for Social Studies, University of Coimbra. She is interested in researching and teaching clinical communication and the therapeutic relationship, and is a founding member of SP3CS (Portuguese Society of Clinical Communication in Health Care). He obtained his doctorate in Medicine in 2009 with the thesis “Depression and Immunity: Lessons from a study of SLE Patients”. Her other scientific research interests include the impact of life events and stress on the immune system and psychological and biological factors in resilience to stress and depression. Figueiredo-Braga is a member of the Editorial Board of the European Journal of Psychotraumatology. Psychotherapist and Supervisor in Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies accredited by the APTC. Founding member of the Portuguese Society for Clinical Communication in Healthcare (SP3CS), and National Representative of the International Association for Communication in Healthcare (EACH).
