In recent years, professionals from different areas have been expressing significant interest in the area of ​​Psychotraumatology. In fact, natural disasters, road accidents, widespread situations of violence are present in the daily lives of today's societies, constituting potentially traumatic events and reinstating the concept of trauma at the heart of modern psychopathology. In addition, the pandemic experience we have been living through has made the need to mobilise communities as active partners in preventing and elaborating responses to crises glaringly obvious. It is, therefore, important to promote, in a context of interdisciplinary dialogue, knowledge about prevention and intervention in psychological trauma in situations of crisis, disaster or catastrophe. Hence the proposed programme. 

• Provide trainees with theoretical and practical knowledge in psychological trauma, including post-crisis, disaster or catastrophe trauma.
• Promote, in the area of psychological trauma, common terminologies and practices, based on scientific evidence.
• Implement strategies for prevention, intervention, treatment in psychological trauma, in line with internationally recognised criteria.
• Reconcile the training obtained with the curricular data required for the European Certificate of Psychotraumatology - capacity of the ESTSS.
• Facilitate access and knowledge sharing with international intervention networks in Psychotraumatology.

Target Audience

• Professionals and students from different areas of Health and Social Sciences;
• Other professionals involved in potentially traumatic situations (elements of emergency teams, military personnel, first responders, members of security forces, journalists, etc.).

Minimum Selection Requirements

• Higher Education of 1st Cycle or Equal.
• Bachelor's degree finalist students in the referred areas, adjacent or related to psychological trauma

O IV Curso de Formação em Psicotraumatologia na sua generalidade será constituído por 10 módulos periódicos, organizados em 15 sessões, que se realizarão quinzenalmente em regime tendencialmente online, sendo a primeira e a última sessões em regime misto.

Esta edição do curso terá início a 30 de outubro de 2021.

Os módulos são pontuados com créditos fixos e sujeitos a avaliação obrigatória.

The IV Training Course in Psychotraumatology will be overall composed by 10 periodic modules (workshops), organised in 15 sessions,  held fortnightly, mostly online, with the first and last sessions being mixed.

This edition of the course will begin on October 30, 2021.

The modules are punctuated with fixed credits and subject to mandatory evaluation.
 

Certification

Participants of the Training Course in Psychotraumatology wishing to apply for the ESTSS European Certificate in Psychotraumatology are required to be an ESTSS member. Trauma Centre associates are, by default, ESTSS members.

Participants who are not yet Trauma Center associates must sign up by completing an online form available at the Trauma Center website.

To obtain the European Certificate in Psychotraumatology participants are required to attend the 9 compulsory modules to attain the 100 credit points. Each module will have a mandatory assessment through a questionnaire of 10 multiple-choice questions. The questionnaire will be made available by the Trauma Center, which will communicate to the ESTSS the results obtained by each candidate. ESTSS is responsible for recording the accumulated credit and for assigning the Certificate.

The ESTSS certification diploma comprises a 40 euros fee (negotiation for lower echelon in progress) to ensure the administrative management of the Certificate.

Vacancies

The course will be held with a minimum of 24 participants. 

Registration
Registration is individual and comprises two modalitieé individual e feita em duas modalidades:

a) Attendance of  the complete series;
b) Attendance per module, by completing an online form available on the CES website and the Trauma Centre.

Fees
The fee for the full course, which includes: 10 modules, is 800 euros, in full payment or payment in three installments: 1^st (300 euros) at the time of registration; 2^nd (200 euros) until January 31^st, 2022; 3^rd (250 euros) until March 31^st, 2022, for the individual associated participants of the Trauma Centre or for participants proposed by partner institutions of the Trauma Center.

In case of attendance of isolated modules, the cost will be 75 euros/module for associates of the Trauma Centre and 85 euros/module for non-member

To obtain the European Certificate in Psychotraumatology two requirements are necessary, which include the following costs:

I) To be a Trauma Center associate and, inherently, of the ESTSS, with regularized annual dues (value of the dues of individual members - 27 euros, associates/partners - 17 euros);

II) Enroll in the ESTSS website and register in the Certificate, with, for administrative management of certification, a single fee, currently 40 euros, paid directly to ESTSS.
