3rd Module of the IV Course on Psychotraumatology of the Trauma Centre/CES

CONTENTS
Trauma: normal and pathological manifestations. Differential diagnoses. Complex trauma.
Each trainer gives a presentation of about 60-75 minutes plus 30 minutes for discussion.

Bio notes

Ana Araújo

Psiquiatra, Coordenadora da Equipa Comunitária de Saúde Mental de Leiria Norte. É também Coordenadora da Unidade de Psiquiatria Comunitária do CRIP-CHUC, onde trabalha como Terapeuta de Família no Centro de Terapia Familiar. Tem especializações em áreas como Psicodrama, Terapia Familiar, Gestão de Saúde e Codificação Clínica pela Associação de Médicos, bem como Formação Psicossomática Sami-Ali, Paris e Formação PADIS - Programa de Ensino Superior AESE. É pós-graduada em Direito Biomédico pela Faculdade de Direito da Universidade de Coimbra e concluiu o Curso de Diagnóstico e Intervenção em Stress Pós-Traumático (2006) e o Curso de Especialização em Antropologia da Saúde do Centro de Bioética da Universidade Católica do Porto. É membro da Associação de Língua Portuguesa para o Estudo do Stress Traumático.

Joana P. Becker

Joana Proença Becker is a researcher at the Trauma Observatory of the Center for Social Studies (CES) of the University of Coimbra (UC), Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of the University of Coimbra (FPCEUC), collaborating professor of the Master's degree in Social and Cultural Psychiatry at the Faculty of Medicine of the UC, and member of the Future International Leadership Group of the European Society for Traumatic Stress Studies (ESTSS). Becker is graduated in Psychology, specialist in Dynamic Psychotherapy, has master's degree in Social and Cultural Psychiatry (research on traumatic stress and somatic symptoms in the Colonial War veterans), and obtained the Certificate General in Psychotraumatology issued by European Society for Traumatic Stress Studies (ESTSS). She has worked with trauma since 2008, starting her career with the assessment of children and adolescents who were victims of sexual abuse, and also observing the screening of juvenile offenders. Currently, Becker is part of the research team at the "Resource Center for Stress in Military Context" (Ministry of National Defense), and, as PhD student in Clinical Psychology at the Faculty of Psychology and Education Sciences of the University of Coimbra, she is investigating the effects of Dynamic Psychotherapy in the treatment of stress-related diseases of firefighters who were involved at the combat of the 2017 forest fires, in Portugal. In addition, Becker has given workshops on PTSD and crisis and catastrophe situations, has been a speaker at events in the area of mental health and a reviewer of national and international scientific journals. Her research interest field is the treatment of PTSD, the normal and pathological reactions after potentially traumatic events, and the psychological consequences of crises and catastrophes..
