Bio notes

João Veloso

Collaborating researcher at the Trauma Observatory/CES-UC. Graduated in Clinical Psychology from Universidade Lusófona de Lisboa. Training in Psychotraumatology - Trauma Observatory/CES-UC.

Specialist in Clinical Psychology, Health, and Community Intervention. Psychotherapist, working mainly with children, adolescents, and families. Coordinator - Psychologist in Emergency Intervention and Psychotraumatology at ANAFS (NGDO - Civil Protection). Trainer and Supervisor certified by EMDR Europe and Portugal for children and adolescents. TIR training. Veloso is a Trainer of Trainers for TENTS-TP (The European Network for Traumatic Stress - Training & Practice Member).

He has participated in and presented at several national and international conferences centred on the psychotraumatology of children and adolescents, developing innovative psychotherapeutic procedures.


Guida Manuel

Specialist in Clinical and Health Psychology, Psychotherapist, Consultant in EMDR by EMDR Europe, Collaborating Researcher at the CES-UC Trauma Observatory. PhD student in "Globalisation Studies" at the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences of Universidade Nova de Lisboa.

Various training courses in the field of stress, trauma and crisis intervention, namely certified by the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation (ICISF), Traumatic Incident Reduction (TIR) certified by AMI (Applied Metapsychology International), 1st Training Course in Psychotraumatology, organised by the CES-UC Trauma Observatory, certified by the European Society for Traumatic Stress Studies (ESTSS).

A trainer at the Institute of Judicial Police and Criminal Sciences (IPJCC) since 2006, she teaches components related to stress and police work, prevention, and intervention in critical incidents and crisis intervention for operatives. As well as training, she carries out specialised intervention and scientific research as part of the projects of the IPJCC's Psychology and Selection Office, particularly in studies on health, stress and critical incidents in the context of police work.
