4th Module of the IV Course in Psychotraumatology of the Trauma Observatory/CES-UC 

CONTENTS

Approaches to specific populations: military personnel; people with serious pathologies/hospital experiences (e.g. COVID); sexual minorities.

Each trainer will make a presentation of about 45-60 minutes, plus 15 minutes for discussion.

Bio notes

Graça Santos

Graça Maria Correia dos Santos, graduated in Medicine in 1979 from the University of Coimbra and specialised in Psychiatry in 1989;
Works as a Graduated Assistant in the Psychiatry Service of the Coimbra University Hospital Centre;
Coordinator of the Liaison Psychiatry Unit of the CHUC;
Coordinator of the Sexology Consultation at the CHUC;
She integrates URGUS (Genito-Urinary and Sexual Reconstruction Unit) since its formation in 2011; this multidisciplinary unit provides health care to people with gender diversity throughout the sexual reassignment/gender transition process.
Accredited as a “Sex Therapist” by the Portuguese Society of Clinical Sexology;
Holds a Competence in Clinical Sexology by the Portuguese Medical Association;
Has lectured in various pre and post-graduate training courses, collaborating as a trainer on the S.P.S.C. Sexology Post-Graduate Course, supervising final monographs, as well as being a Jury member for the discussion of monographs on the Portuguese Society of Sexology course. Co-supervisor of Integrated Master's theses in Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Coimbra;  
Has published works in the area of Sexology and presented in national and international congresses.
Author of the following book chapters: Vaginism and dyspareunia in "Sexology - A multidisciplinary perspective" Fonseca L., Soares C., Vaz M.J., ed. Quarteto, Coimbra 2003; Sexuality in the elderly in "Psicogeriartria", Firmino H., Psiquiatria Clinica, Coimbra 2006 and co-author of a chapter in "Cancer, Intimacy and Sexuality: A Practical Approach", Reisman,Yacov,Gianotten,WoetL.(Eds). Gender dysphoria in "The doctor-patient relationship: a contribution from the Portuguese Medical Association" Guimarães M, Poças J, Carvalho, Lacerda A. 2019.
She is part of the board of the Portuguese Society of Clinical Sexology and the Teaching Committee of the Postgraduate Course in Sexology of the S.P.S.C.

Major Nuno Ribeiro
Nuno Miguel Martins Ribeiro was born in Maia on the 30th October 1982. He is an Infantry Major in the Permanent Board of the Portuguese Army and a member of the Portuguese Psychologists Order.
He is qualified with a Degree in Military Sciences in the Infantry specialty by the Military Academy and with the Integrated Masters in Psychology, Section of Psychology of Human Resources, Work and Organizations, by the Psychology Faculty of the Lisbon University.
After performing several functions in the scope of his military training, in 2017, he started working at the Army Centre of Applied Psychology (CPAE), starting by performing the functions of Head of the School Guidance and Psychopedagogical Support Office, Head of the Job Analysis Section of the Selection Office, Commander of the Psychological Operations Module and Head of the Support Office. Since January 2020, he has held the position of Head of the Nucleus of Psychological Support and Intervention (NAIP) and Lessons Learned Officer of the CPAE.
He was awarded the Commemorative Medal for Special Service Commissions (2010), the Silver Medal for Exemplary Behaviour (2016), the NATO Medal (2021) and the D. Afonso Henriques Medal - Army Merit (2021).
He is married and has 2 daughters.
