Choriro is not a History book; it is an historical narrative in which real facts and characters merge with other facts and characters made up by the author, himself a History scholar. Narratives merge – memories of known people and known lands, narratives that are chronicles of past happenings in a well determined historical epoch, where imaginary facts, so attached to popular traditions, are not missing. Here are represented, as in a stage, the style and the ghosts of the actor/narrator, the art of making his speech believable, the talent for letting the reader understand hidden meanings, forcing him to forget things he does not talk about”.
