 PhDs (programs open biennially) The Centre for Social Studies (CES) hosts a  diversified series of PhD Programmes within the School of Economics  of Coimbra University (FEUC), giving scope to the synergies created by the  advanced research which it develops. These programmes are to be found in a  joint strategy aiming at training young researchers in the area of social and  human studies. The programmes encompass a teaching faculty and a number of  prestigious visiting professors. Every programme consists of an intensive  curricular first year, contemplating not only a structured following of  students’ scientific development by means of curricular and research seminars,  as also by privileged access to visiting scholars renowned in their areas. All  the curricular programmes are in conformity with the Bologna model.
