Within the Project Participative Budget Portugal: More Participation, Better Democracy

Aims
 

This project is endorsed by Communitary Initiative EQUAL (Action 3) that has as main aim the dissemination of the theme and methodology of Participative Budget (PB) at national level. In specific terms this means:

• Supporting the adoption of PB on the part of Portuguese municipalities;
• Capacitating theoretically and methodologically the different intervenients regarding the development of PB processes;
• Creating support instruments towards implementation, development, monitoring and assessment of these processes;
• Encouraging the sharing of experiences and network relations between municipalities promoting PB;
• Creating a flow of information and documents as what regards to PB, available to the various actors interested in the theme.

All of this shall be developed assuring a perspective in articulation with “participation practices” already existing in each territory.
