Historical and premonitory intervention of Levi-Straus at Unesco, in 1970, allows the emergence of a debate on the practices and discourse of World Heritage Centre and the consequences/contradictions of heritage democratization, as well as of cultural diversity/cross-cultural dialogue.
Biographic Note
Ana Paula Amendoeira – Graduate Degree in History (U. Lisbon), Master’s Degree in Heritage Rehabilitation (U.Évora), Doctoral student at Paris IV Sorbonne, (research subject: Evolution of world heritage concept and its list). She holds a grant by Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) and is a researcher at Centre for Archaeological Studies of the Universities of Coimbra and Porto (CEAUCP).
European Diploma in cultural project management (Council of Europe/Marcel Hicter Foundation), 2001-2002)
Secretary-General of ICOMOS/Portugal (1996-2006).
Member of the International Executive Committee of ICOMOS/Paris – Committee for World Heritage, 2002-2005
