Presentation

Assuming that insecurity is an important dimension of contemporary cities, but has different meanings that support practices that may differ, demanding, therefore, a constant articulation between micro and macro-analyses, we seek to compare the treatment given to the issue in Brazil and Portugal. Identifying common scenarios that point out the important role performed by the media in the mediation of relations between real violence and represented violence, but also distinct scenarios, that confirm the importance of the adopted principle.
