About the film
"Si può fare" is a film by Giulio Manfredonia that portrays the difficulties in carrying out a psychiatric reform such as the Italian one in the late 1970’s,professing the closure of psychiatric hospitals and the reintegration of the ill in the community. The story focuses on a cooperative that shelters and seeks to occupy some of those patients in (useless) activities of assistive nature and reports the efforts of a trade unionist that accepts directing the cooperative in an innovating manner coherent with the philosophy of the reform, namely by allowing the patients to carry out their desires of a normal existence: a work one enjoys, a home, falling in love and having sex.
