The issue of memory of violence and the means of relating to the past it allows to establish has become one of the main themes of contemporary thought. One of the fundamental aspects of this reflection relates to countries that just out of dictatorships and the difficult pursuit of criteria for individual and collective justice. The colloquium, organized in partnership with the Federal University of Minas Gerais and CES – Latin America, shall provide a loci of interdisciplinary discussion regarding this thematic, parting from contributions of Portuguese and Brazilian researchers.
