Presentation

This seminar has for aim to discuss the contemporary dynamics of intercultural exchange between Brazilians and Portuguese in the city of Porto, stressing the processes of transmission of Brazilian cultural elements in the scope of leisure and cultural practises centred in ludic-expressive forms (popular music, dance, capoeira). Two axes of analysis will be especially focussed: the transformations in identity processes and the impacts of Brazilian sonorities on Porto’s sound landscape.
