Author’s autobiography: he was born in Tete, in 1939. He first studied in Baptista Coelho School and later in Portugal, in a Jesuit school – the Nuno Álvares Institute –, then in a school in Santo Tirso, and finally in Lisbon, in Pedro Nunes School and in the Law Faculty. He was integrated in the Empire Students House and later in FRELIMO, where he fought for the independency of Mozambique.
