The Algerian author is teacher of History of Contemporary Maghreb. This work analyses and explains the essentials of political, economic, social and cultural problems that affect Algeria, a country deeply shattered since the 1980s. After the independency, in July 1962, came a bloody war that lasted for 8 years and generating serious problems such as poverty and unemployment; the whole economy had been built upon the metropolis and that weakness drove many Algerians to France to find some employment.
