Author’s biography starting in April 25th, 1974, at the time when she frequented high school in Maputo and, together with colleagues, celebrated the fall of Marcello Caetano and fascism.  “In July [1974], the Academic Association and the Mozambican Democrats organized their first course of adult alphabetization monitors”.  She tells us how this process happened in Maputo, describes the joys of freedom of expression and how youths changed their behaviours in the classrooms, facing conservatism of their teachers and their most sceptic colleagues. She recalls revolutionary songs sung by everybody, and the poems of African poets taught in school from that moment on.
