Talking about the first multiparty elections in Mozambique in 1994, questions like democracy, abstention, women participation, role of the media, etc, are exposed in this book; it is composed by “several articles with diversified reflections about the third autarchy elections (2008), fourth general elections and the first to municipal assemblies. Some articles constitute theoretical reflections, written with the aim of integrating this book, other texts are a result of reflection events and evaluation of elections of 2008 and 2009, organized by the Electoral Observatory, oriented to stimulate the public debate and to reflect positions of certain political groups or management institutions and administration of electoral processes in the country. Inserted in the domain of the comparative study of the elections are also incorporated texts that deal with elections in some African countries.”
