History of a commandant from the ‘IV region of FRELIMO’ (south of Save) during the liberation fight. A poor boy, of limited study resources, he participates since early years in the armed fight, having received military training in Algeria. By the end of 1964 he was tipped to PIDE by a friend, together with other members of the IV region. In prison, where he stayed for several years, he was extensively tortured. This book of memories reports to that period while also reflecting over the process of transition for independence in Mozambique. It tells us about the complexities of the process and the exodus of the population, white in a great extent, from Mozambique to Portugal.
