“This book gathers a series of articles presented in an international conference that happened in Maputo between the 28th and the 30th of April 2010, named: Legal and Public Security Mechanisms of the State and off-State – The Dynamics of Legal Pluralism in Mozambique. The conference was organized by the Centre of Social Studies Aquino de Bragança (CESAB) and by the Danish Institute of International Studies (DIIS) and supported by the Royal Embassy of Denmark, by the Foundation Friedrich Ebert and by the Portuguese Institute of Support to Development (IPAD). It represents the first attempt of extended debate of the policies related with legal pluralism, in the extent that it tried to congregate the empirical investigation about this topic, developed since legal pluralism was recognized on the Mozambican Constitution, in 2004.”
