Fonseca, Alfredo Santos (2010)

An autobiographical account of his trip and stay in Mozambique, as a colonial war soldier in the area of Niassa. In this work he acknowledges that war as a bloody and poorly organized one, unfair and manipulative of white men’s minds and bodies towards a vain death, for the decadent profit of the metropolis. He regrets not being free to choose not to fight the locals, who were simply defending their land.
