Ferrão, Valeriano (2007)

 

 

In this book the author presents us his autobiographical path. He tells us how racist the city of Beira was, with the majority of the population supporting the Portuguese colonial regime. Exiled in Paris from n1963, he did work and was integrated in groups composed of Portuguese having escaped military service and supporters of FRELIMO, and was in contact with other colleagues in Argel and Dar-es-Salaam. In 1964 he goes to Switzerland to study engineering, and six years later went to Argel, Cairo and Dar-es-Salaam, where he underwent military training in a FRELIMO camp, and assuming a position of teacher. In 1983 he is appointed Ambassador of Mozambique to Washington.
