“This study focuses on the rural population of the south of Save river, with the aim of understanding the internal logic of its system in the end of the colonial period, as a result of a long history – of emigration, since 1870, and of colonization, from 1895 until the independency – a history filled with various tensions and changes through time and regions. The reasons why I seek that knowledge relate with the fact that comprehension of the different social forms of human history is cultural and scientifically useful, and of the outlines of a concrete society is indispensable for the definition of models and strategies for its development.”
