This work deals with the geopolitical settings of the territory presently known as Mozambique in the first half of the 19^th century: the African kingdoms chiefs, colonial governors, merchants and trade routes, alliances and conflicts between them all. It also integrates the transcription of an anonymous manuscript, “The War of Vatuas Kings”, in which some relations and negotiations between rival parts are portrayed.
